Updates
This
has been an incredible week for our Esperanto course. This week we saw
our 100,000th learner sign up! Every day we keep seeing new posts from
our learners who are completing the tree, some even with a completely
golden tree. What dedication!
We decided to liven up the community by offering a series of AMA (Ask Me Anything) sessions with Esperanto celebrities. On Friday, we had the chance to meet Bertilo, the rock star grammarian himself. Our next guest will be the popular YouTuber, Evildea. See the complete AMA schedule.
In other news, I was recently at the Internacia Junulara Kongreso in Wiesbaden (Germany) and met four people there who started learning Esperanto on Duolingo. After just two months of learning, we were already having conversations together. What an incredible experience! I also heard about one of our learners who showed up at one of Berlin's Esperanto clubs (we have five here) where he spoke Esperanto the entire evening.
We were also excited to discover that toward the end of the Esperanto tree, around half of the sentence discussions are even in Esperanto. I haven't heard of this happening in any other course. We're blown away by our amazing learners, our great team of course contributions as well as the excellent support we get from Duolingo HQ. Congratulations everyone and keep up the great work!
